McLaren Engineering Group provided structural engineering for the Space Shuttle pavilion replacement, lighting upgrades, submarine display, and restoration shed at the Intrepid – Sea, Air, & Space Museum on the Hudson River in New York City.

The Space Shuttle Pavilion’s original inflatable tent was damaged during Superstorm Sandy. The replacement tent connects betsafe casino bonus to the deck of the Intrepid Ship Museum and is framed with a steel roof. The submarine display was designed as an interactive learning tool with the capacity to be rolled to different locations in the facility if needed.

McLaren served as engineer-of-record for the new tent structure, which was built over the Space Shuttle on the Intrepid. It required precise erection procedures to avoid harming or interfering with the shuttle display. The structure was engineered to withstand high winds and harsh environmental conditions. McLaren’s betsafe sports|Most Popular_Al worked in conjunction with the specialty contractor to fast-track this project following Superstorm Sandy. Existing light poles were also modified for high intensity lighting to illuminate the Shuttle.
