In recognition of Black History Month and Women’s History Month, betsafe casino online New York State Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced that a new state park planned for more than 500 acres of former industrial property along the Hudson River shoreline in the City of Kingston and Town of Ulster will be named for 19th century African American abolitionist and suffragist Sojourner Truth who started her life in Ulster County.

In 2019 Scenic Hudson, Inc., the non-for-profit environment organization managing the park for NJ Palisades and NY State Parks, engaged OLIN, with McLaren Engineering Group, to design a strategy that celebrates the rich history of this landscape of the Kingston region in Ulster County.

Sojourner Truth State Park includes 260 acres of woodlands, more than a mile of Hudson Riverfront offering sweeping views, a dramatic cliff and ridgeline, and 37 acres of wetlands. The project celebrates the state park’s capacity to embrace ecological recovery and embedded history to formulate an economically sound, climate-conscious, and accessible future.
